The Crushers had a runner in scoring position in the ninth inning, but could not tie the game and lost their 10th in a row, 6-5, on Aug. 6 at Joliet.

Joliet scored four runs in the fourth inning to take a 5-1 lead. Lake Erie rallied with two runs in the fifth and two in the seventh to tie the game at 5-5. But Slammers DH Matthew Warkentin hit a solo home run off Crushers reliever Darrien Ragins in the bottom of the seventh for the final margin.

Zach Racusin, Jack Harris and Sean Cheely each had two hits for the Crushers.

Starter Trevor Kuncl pitched 3 1/3 innings, gave up four runs, walked five and struck out three.

After a day off, Lake Erie will look to end its losing stretch during a three-game homestand against Washington. The first game is Aug. 8 at Mercy Health Stadium.
